Kindle has become another demanding source of information. Back in October last year, Amazon announced an international version of the Kindle 2 with a built-in 3G (HSDPA) and EDGE/GSM wireless modem for connectivity in over 100 countries with applications available for iphone and ipod touch users.

Online sales on the rise

shoppersDespite financially straining times in 2009, the online retail industry received positive response from consumers over the Christmas period.

According to the British Retail Consortium, online mail order sales were 26.5% higher than a year ago, compared with a 16.9% rise in November. These stats indicate that the online retail industry is rapidly growing, with many consumers happy to complete transactions online in the convenience of their own home.
