Comment Spamming – Just Say No!

Monday, November 30th, 2009

In a recent article, on the ever-useful Google Webmasters blog, Adel Saoud and Paolo Petrolini have written an excellent piece covering Comment Spamming.bad-inbound-links

This is the practice of users logging into your blog and then posting random links back to theirs or one of their clients’ business sites, often ones with no relation to your website or even your blog. As they also point out this can be modified by posting some generalised comment such as “Great article” before writing some gibberish. (more…)

Childrens Parties at Croc n Craft in Sevenoaks Kent

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

We’ve just finished a new video for a company based down in Sevenoaks Kent called Croc n Craft. They do pottery painting sessions where you can come in, choose a piece of pottery and then just go mad with the paints.

This is an example of one of our services, whereby we produce short video pieces that can be used online as a way of promoting a company through online video sources or on a blog. As I’ve written before, this is incredibly effective due to the huge appetite Google and other search engines have for video content.

These videos can be used as part of your own website blog, a YouTube channel or even advertising online through various other media portals. The key is to have good quality video production that doesn’t just look like someone shot it on their mobile phone. We use proven techniques in both shooting the footage and editing and uploading to the internet.

Croc n Craft also run parties for children as well as various other group events. It’s also very reasonably priced as you only pay about £3 for a session and then whatever pieces of pottery you want to paint. A mug can start from only £6 so you can get your own unique piece of artwork from your child for only a few quid. Plus they love the creative side of things.

Have a look at the video to see what you can do.

I’d love to hear your comments and if you’d like us to do something similar for your business please contact us.

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

G AdwordsBrand bidding is an effective way to control company reputation and avoid a great loss in traffic.

Anyone can bid on your brand name, there is nothing stopping it anymore. If you don’t bid on your brand name, there is a decent chance that one of your competitors will appear at the top of the search results when someone is looking for you. It’s like driving past Sainsburys to get to Tesco; it’s inevitable that you’ll lose some customers, it’s just a question of how many.

Depending on brand objectives, playing ignorant to bidding on your own brand presents an opportunity for resellers and affiliates to use your brand name to encourage your traffic towards to their desired destination.

Choosing design over content

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

engagingWebsites are home to a brand and the perception developed through initial viewing can be an influencing factor on whether a visitor decides to pursue their interest further.

Obviously both are essential towards encouraging conversions, but why does the majority of choice still sway towards design?

Both possess identical concepts in what they are trying to achieve. Same target audience, objectives and purpose, therefore neither should be prioritised over the other.

Why pop-ups are a negative approach to brand selling.

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

I’m sure everyone has experienced the sense of intrusion when you enter a website that immediately targets you with a pop-up advert.

Unlike alternative forms of advertising, that provide the viewer with a choice on whether to pursue an offer, pop-ups are forced within view and can often create a negative perception on the brand within the advert.

Consumers like choice, being more than aware that a range of choice is available. Therefore why would anyone appreciate being forced into indulging within a product they may necessarily not possess interest in?
